One Bad Tour #5

Firefighters from all over the country came to Leesburg, Florida, for one purpose: to take on a 24-hour challenge designed to test their mental and physical fortitude. This wasn’t a neatly packaged training session with breaks and pats on the back. It was gritty, relentless, and raw — just like the job itself.

Some of these photos are gritty because the event was gritty. In the middle of the night, we cranked the ISO all the way up to ensure nothing was missed: the sweat, exhaustion, and determination. These images aren’t polished, and that’s the point. They show the raw, authentic reality of what some of the best firefighters in the country are doing to train.

There are over 700 photos from this event, and each one tells part of the story. Take a look and you’ll see why we have so much respect for these men and women.
